Alabama Saltwater Fishing Tackle | Gulf Shores Snapper & Tuna Guide
Alabama Saltwater Fishing: Season & Tackle Guide
Gulf Shores and Orange Beach anchor one of the Gulf's best-known fishing scenes, home to the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo and a season that runs from spring cobia to summer red snapper.
Peak Seasons
- Cobia: March–May, as fish move close to shore with the spring warm-up.
- Red Snapper: Private angling season opens in late May and runs through the year or until quota is met.
- Tuna (Blackfin & Yellowfin): Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) migrations.
- Mahi: Summer, in the Gulf's deeper blue water.
